At Ascent, the annual English debate tournament has become a highly anticipated tradition among students. Each competition is more than a clash of language and logic. It’s a powerful moment where students find their voice, challenge themselves, and connect with one another through spirited exchange.
We believe that language is not just a tool for expressing opinions, but a force that sparks critical thinking and bridges worlds. Through our regularly hosted debate tournaments, students step onto the stage to sharpen their analytical minds and spontaneous response skills, while learning to respect diverse perspectives and seek understanding through dialogue. This is more than a contest. It’s a platform for growth, transformation, and brilliance. Year after year, Ascent witnesses young individuals break through their limits and evolve, with English becoming the voice of their confidence and conviction.

July 2025 From Debate to Impact｜
UBI Sparks Critical Thinking and Social Awareness
Ascent, in collaboration with UBI Taiwan, co-hosted the National Bilingual Secondary School Debate Tournament at NCCU’s International College of Innovation. The event drew over 100 students from more than 20 schools across Taiwan, with debates centered on the topic of Universal Basic Income. Sparking vibrant exchanges and critical reflection. Ascent students delivered an outstanding performance, advancing to the English division finals and securing both champion and runner-up titles. Their success showcased exceptional language fluency and analytical depth. Looking ahead, Ascent remains committed to creating high-quality debate platforms that inspire youth to engage with pressing social issues and become thoughtful changemakers.
Led personally by founders Allen and Tyler, the Spring Youth Leadership Immersion brings high school students into direct engagement with global issues, cultivating practical leadership and business acumen along the way. Through hands-on project work and collaboration with international NGOs, students gain experience in project management and apply what they’ve learned to real-world social impact initiatives.This program reflects Ascent’s core belief: to learn with purpose, and to act with impact.
Ascent was honored to be invited to Thailand for the “World Changer’s Cup,” an international English speech and debate tournament. Founder Tyler served as a guest judge, engaging warmly with local students and parents while sharing Ascent’s educational philosophy and global resources. The event marked a meaningful step in fostering cross-cultural exchange and showcasing Ascent’s commitment to empowering youth through language, leadership, and international collaboration.
