Zoe's Story
Zoe attended the Humanities and Social Sciences Gifted Program at Taipei First Girls' Senior High School, where she was exposed to many social issues from high school onwards, sparking her interest in critical thinking and education. After graduating from high school, she went to the United States to study, pursuing a double bachelor's degree in Business and Information Analytics at the University of Michigan, Annapurna. During her university years, she studied a wide range of business-related subjects, including accounting, strategy, and financial technology. Despite her busy academic and personal life, Zoe did not forget her passion for teaching and influencing others through her abilities. She proactively applied for after-school tutoring positions in two business courses, helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds keep up with the course progress and achieve academic improvement.
During her final year of university, Zoe successfully received a management consultant offer from McKinsey & Company in North America. Until graduation, she voluntarily helped many classmates, juniors, and alumni practice for management consultant interviews in her spare time.
During her two and a half years at McKinsey North America, Zoe participated in projects covering various industries, including healthcare, heavy industry, and the public sector. She was particularly interested in education and career training . In these projects, she combined her practical experience in career counseling with her deep understanding of the North American job market to help several non-profit career training organizations develop strategies to enhance their influence and sustainability.
After deciding to leave the consulting industry and temporarily move back to Taiwan, Zoe met Allen by chance and was attracted by Ascent's educational philosophy and development. Drawing on her own experience studying and working abroad, she believed that Ascent could effectively promote critical thinking education in Taiwan and become a cornerstone of Taiwan's talent cultivation, and she hoped to be a part of building this vision. Therefore, Zoe chose to join Ascent as its Chief Operating Officer, hoping to use her abilities to help Ascent continue to grow and thus positively influence education in Taiwan.
In addition to her full-time job, Zoe also began working as a career development coach in 2025, helping students who want to enter the domestic and international consulting industry to develop job search plans and practice interviews. Zoe is also a Taiwanese writer, having published three poetry collections since high school: *Black Ink in a Pink Bottle* (Zebra Crossing Bookstore, 2017), *Secretly Kept Home* (United Literature, 2018), and *Tone Deaf* (Zebra Crossing Bookstore, 2019). Her other works have appeared in well-known Taiwanese publications such as *Genesis Poetry Magazine*, *Lion's Literary Magazine*, and *United Literature Supplement*.
