Leave/Class Rescheduling Policy

[Leave/Rescheduling Policy] (2024.2.18)

  1. You must notify Ascent Academy of any leave through the official Line account at least 24 hours before the class. If no notice is given, it will be considered as an unexcused absence, and no compensation will be provided. The parent’s personal leave message sent to the LINE Official account is the only formal proof of leave.

  2. Any date on which a student is unable to attend will be considered as leave.

  3. If a student takes leave, they may reschedule to another time. If a make-up class is not possible, a credit voucher will be provided for an equivalent discount in the next semester’s course fee. A maximum of three absences per course per semester is allowed, and credit vouchers will be provided for equivalent discounts in the next semester’s course fee. Please note that this compensation measure only applies to leave requests made through the LINE Official account. Any verbal or written leave requests outside of the LINE Official account will not be eligible for compensation.

  4. A maximum of three credit vouchers can be used per course per semester.

  5. If the course is canceled due to the fault of the teacher or Ascent Academy, the student is entitled to a cash refund for the missed class or can opt for an equivalent credit voucher for future courses.

  6. If the course is canceled due to emergencies or other issues beyond Ascent Academy’s control (such as natural disasters), an equivalent credit voucher for future courses will be provided.

  7. If an in-person course cannot be conducted due to an issue beyond Ascent Academy’s control or an emergency, the affected classes will be fully converted to online sessions. If a student cannot attend online, adjustments may be made on a case-by-case basis.

 

[Refund Policy]

Ascent Academy’s refund policy follows the Taipei City Government Bureau of Education’s standards for short-term educational institutions:

  • More than 60 days before the course start date: 95% of the paid fees will be refunded.
  • From 59 days before the course start date until the day before the course starts: 90% of the paid fees will be refunded.
  • On the course start date but before the second session: 70% of the paid fees will be refunded.
  • After the second session and before one-third of the total course hours have been completed: 50% of the paid fees will be refunded.
  • After one-third of the total course hours have been completed: No refund will be given.

Can I experience the courses?
Yes, Ascent warmly welcomes children to experience the courses to better understand their interests and proficiency levels.

What if I don't know what kind of course is suitable for my child?
Each child has a different personality and learning experience, and there are individualized courses and levels that suit them. Therefore, it is recommended that parents contact us for consultation. Through Ascent's professional assessment, suitable courses can be arranged for the child according to their proficiency level.
