Allen is the founder of Ascent Academy and Lead For Taiwan (LFT), an educational non-profit organization that provides critical thinking training and future-issue seminars. He graduated from New York University with the John W. Wilkes European History Award and almost a full scholarship. He had also received scholarships from the United World College in Mostar and European Forum Alpbach. 

With diverse educational backgrounds in prestigious international institutions, Allen hopes to bring back world-class educational opportunities for Taiwanese students. In the course of 3 years, Allen has helped 100+ students, from schools like TFG, NTU, KCIS, etc, improve both language skills and critical thinking. With his passionate support, some of his students later attended top schools like University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, UC Berkeley, etc. In his spare time, he writes for Taiwanese magazines like Crossing (天下雜誌換日線) and The News Lens (關鍵評論網).
